One man recalls what was told to him about May 9th.

I was on the hospital ship USS Repose on May 9, 1968 when what seemed like half the company joined me. From what they told me they had set up for the night on a small hill in some gently rolling terrain. In the morning, it was foggy with no air support available because of the fog and as they were moving out and had broken down the motar tube when all hell broke loose. The company was out in the open and the NVA was in the tree line throwing everything at the company from flame throwers to 30 caliber machine gun. Whatever the NVA had, they threw it at the company. I would not have wanted to have been there. However, my heart went out to them and again I felt some guilt for not being there.

The links below do not show the daily records, however "some" of the information is pulled from them.
